Hilary Picton: In the first rubber Frances' powerful ground strokes and overheads were too much for Jane and Jo. Against the B pairing of Janet and Jo Frances and Hilary had to work harder as Janet's steady returns resulted in mistakes from the Tavistock pair. Ultimately the experience of Frances and Hilary won through.\r\nTavistock's second pairing of Claire and Helen played very strongly against Janet and Jo, overpowering the Plympton pair for the loss of only one game. Their rubber against Jane and Jo was a very tight one with some amazing rallies as well as mistakes from both sides. Eventually the consistency of Helen and the aggression of Claire won the day for Tavistock who came out winners 72-15
